21 lutego 2012 r., w Zespole Szkół im. Mikołaja Kopernika w Nowym Żmigrodzie, obchodzono rocznicę urodzin patrona. Po wprowadzeniu sztandaru, zebrani odśpiewali hymn szkoły. Następnie delegacja młodzieży złożyła wiązankę kwiatów pod popiersiem Mikołaja Kopernika, znajdującym się przed budynkiem. Wysłuchano części artystycznej, przygotowanej pod kierunkiem Pani Justyny Cygan, przez uczennice klas I a, II a, III b. Przypomniały one biografię uczonego oraz recytowały poświęcone mu wiersze.

Mikołaj Kopernik był wszechstronnie uzdolniony. Znał astronomię, matematykę, prawo, ekonomię, medycynę, a nawet strategię wojskową. Podczas akademii zacytowano również wiele sentencji jego autorstwa.

On the 21st February 2012 year at our school name of Mikołaj Kopernik in Nowy Żmigród the teaching staff together with students commemorated the annual anniversary of school’s patron birth. After the introduction of a banner and singing school’s anthem the delegation of teenagers put the bouquet of flowers in front of Mikołaj Kopernik monument located in the area of school’s building. In the next part teachers and students heard the artistic programme prepared by English teacher – Justyna Cygan . The representatives of classes I a, II a, III b reminded detailed biography of Mikołaj Kopernik together with poems devoted to memory of scholar. As we know Mikołaj Kopernik was knowledgable and gifted person.

The scientist was expert on mathematics, low, medicine, economy and war strategy. 

During the artistic part the students quoted lots of statements written by Mikołaj Kopernik.
